Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will remain in jail for his trial for the shooting death of Odin Lloyd and one thing he did the day after the murder was strange, as he wrote "good morning" to his followed the day after the shooting occurred.
The tweet is still up and is embedded and photographed for this article and it shows the callousness or the stupidity of Hernandez, as perhaps he thought he would not be implicated in the murder. Hernandez was arrested and charged with first degree murder on Wednesday and now he faces life in prison for the shooting death of Lloyd, as he was described as the ringleader of the crime.
Hernandez was in court for a bail appeal on Thursday and it was denied by the judge after the prosecution laid out a case that showed Hernandez as the killer. She called him a cold blooded killer and the evidence used as an argument included video footage of the two together, text messages between the two, as well as a picture of Hernandez from a surveillance camera with a gun. Hos lawyers argued to get him out, but the appeal was denied and he now will stay in jail, leaving his girlfriend and small child behind.
The DA said that a .45 caliber gun was used and that shell casings found at the scene and elsewhere match ammunition that Hernandez had. Lloyd was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancé and now he is being looked at in connection with a double murder that occurred last year in Boston. An accomplice was arrested in Bristol named Carlos Ortiz and the prosecution made it sound as though they have a witness working with them, as some of the evidence they mentioned could only be corroborated by eye witnesses.
The case will likely be fast tracked to early next year and Hernandez now faces an uncertain future after being released by the Patriots. He had the makings of one of the best tight ends in football, but now he likely will never play in the NFL again. The Patriots were planning on using him extensively and now he will be looked at as a cautionary tale.
