Kobe Bryant Injury Update: Achilles Much Stronger As Los Angeles Lakers Star Ready For Comeback, Team May Try For Draft Trade Into First Round

Kobe Bryant is coming back from a serious Achilles injury and after working hard at getting back he tweeted that he is getting much stronger and that he should be able to return just after the start of the NBA season.

Bryant tweeted about the injury and also congratulated newly hired head coach Brian Shaw after he was hired by the Denver Nuggets. He said his Achilles is "very strong" and that he is ready to get back on the court. Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant has been spending the summer recovering from a serious Achilles injury and after spending a great deal of time in a walking boot, the star finally shed it and took some normal steps, which he showed off on the new Instagram Video.

Bryant is now a big boy on social media after coming onto twitter and other sites and now he is using Instagram to connect with fans as well. The clips on the new Instagram app can be for 15 seconds, which is more than on Vine, which is from twitter. Bryant has been working hard on his recovery and he said that he expects to be ready for the start of the season.

According to the LA Times, Bryant posted the video on Instagram and wrote that he was taking his first steps since the injury after losing his walking boot finally. Bryant had surgery for the injury in April and was forced to miss the playoffs, where the Lakers were swept out by the San Antonio Spurs, who went on to lose to the Miami Heat in the NBA finals in seven games no Thursday night. LeBron James was named the MVP for the second straight year and now the team is trying to get itself to Lakers status with a three-peat.

The Lakers have a number of questions heading into next season, including whether Bryant will be healthy and whether they can sign Dwight Howard long term or not. All signs point to no on Howard, as he was not happy last season in Mike D'Antoni's system and also because he has attitude and maturity issues, how else could one explain not wanting to play with one of the best players of all-time and on a team known for HOF big men?

According to ESPN.com, Bryant was in the stands for the game on Saturday and got to watch Brazil win 4-2 over Italy in the Confederations Cup at Arena Fonte Nova and now they are the top team in Group A. Mario Balotelli was all over the place for Italy and Neymar went head to head with him throughout the game as Italy scored its first goal from Emanuele Giaccherini at the 51st minute. The game in Salvador was an exciting matchup and played out over the backdrop of massive protests in the country over the future World Cup and Olympic Games.

Bryant said to reporters that he hopes to be able to have the final word with Howard before he signs and that he feels that he will decide to stay. The top teams gunning for him include the Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks. The Warriors and Nets could be wild cards, while the Lakers feel they have a good shot to keep him.
