The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres meet again Thursday night as they set off a four-game series at PETCO Park. Okay, so both clubs are at the bottom for their division and seemingly have no chance of winning, so it appears, but what if something happens tonight in San Diego? Be there to watch the action live as the Dodgers and Padres face off.

So far, both teams have done a pretty good job staying away from trouble. The last time they met, the Dodgers took two out of three from the Padres. However, it's the Dodgers who are still in last place in the division. They have received a huge boost from their rightfielder, Yasiel Puig, but they can't win games on a consistent pace to dig their way out of the last spot in the N.L. West.

The division currently has the Dodgers trailing five games behind the Padres, who are three games from the first-place Arizona Diamondbacks. For the Dodgers, that means they are eight games behind the D'Backs. It could be worse. Only the A.L. East is tighter with the last-place Toronto Blue Jays trailing the first-place Boston Red Sox 7.5 games.

The Dodgers will send the 26-year-old, Stephen Fife to the mound and he will be opposed by the Padres' veteran, Jason Marquis. Fife is 1-2 in the season with a 3.74 ERA. In his last start, despite pitching pretty well against the Pittsburgh Pirates, he took the loss. Fife tossed five innings of 2-run ball while walking three and striking out four. Marquis is having a surprising season. So far in 2013, Marquis is 9-2 with a 3.63 ERA. He earned a win in his last start, which was against the Diamondbacks, after going 6.2 innings where he gave up three earned runs.
