Chelsea Transfer News: Van Gaal Wants Sneijder at Stamford Bridge; Van Ginkel's Agent Confirms Blues Interest

Netherlands coach Louis Van Gaal wants Wesley Sneijder to move to Chelsea in the summer, while Marco Van Ginkel's agent confirmed the Blues' interest in the Vitesse Arnhem player.

Sneijder has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge ever since it became clear Jose Mourinho would be the new manager.

The Dutch international had his best years as a player under Mourinho at Inter Milan and is thought to share a pretty good relationship with the Portuguese.

Van Gaal believes Sneijder signing for Chelsea would suit him perfectly, because it would be easier for the experienced coach to keep an eye on the playmaker.

"Sneijder to Chelsea is just a rumor at the moment, but it would be much easier for me to keep an eye on his progress if he were to make the move to Chelsea," he told Algemeen Dagblad.

"I could be at Chelsea within an hour from Netherlands and Mourinho is a friend of me."

Sneijder only moved to Galatasaray in the January transfer window, but the club president Unal Aysal admitted earlier this week he would consider selling Sneijder if a suitable bid were received.

"I have been following the rumours about Sneijder, but we have not received an offer for him," Aysal told Sabah.

"If an offer in the region of €15 million (£12.75 million, $20 million) comes in, we might decide to sell him though."

Meanwhile, Van Ginkel's agent Karel Jansen has confirmed Chelsea's interest in the 20-year-old, who is thought to be closing in on a move to Stamford Bridge.

"Chelsea are interested, we don't deny it," he told De Telegraaf.

"But there are more clubs. Ajax had made official contact with Vitesse, but they don't want to talk with them.

"The situation is that we wait until after the European Championships and then will look for the best step.

"Marco still has two years under contract, so we don't know if he will leave Arnhem but there isn't an agreement right now."
