NBA Draft Rumors: Charlotte Bobcats To Trade Number 4 Pick With Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Kemba Walker To Sacramento Kings For DeMarcus Cousins?

The NBA Draft is getting closer and closer and with the Miami Heat now tied with the san Antonio Spurs in the finals, the rest of the league is working on getting better for the future and that is one reason why a team like the Charlotte Bobcats may decide to trade their top-five pick as the June 27 date approaches for the event.

According to Bleacher Report, a deal for the Bobcats could include the number four pick as well as young players Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Kemba Walker and a possible partner are the Sacramento Kings, who are now assured of staying in the city after the NBA flirted with Seattle. The team could deal troubled center DeMarcus Cousins along with another player to work the money out and that would give the Bobcats a talented player in the middle, while the Kings could continue rebuilding with young talent.

Cousins has attitude issues and he butted heads with management in Sacramento and a trade could give him a chance to start over in a new city and with Michael Jordan as the owner, he may get his act together finally. The number four pick could be an attractive one, as names like Otto Porter, Ben McLemore and Victor Oladipo may still be available and that could away the team to pull the trigger. The Kings would love to start fresh with two players that have no character issues and getting rid of Cousins could take away some baggage from the past regime of the franchise.

Cousins is a big and strong player and while he does have some mental issues, his athleticism and talent is very real and that could be attractive to the Bobcats, who will eventually change their name back to the Hornets. Another trade option could be with the LA Clippers or the Indiana Pacers, as both teams have some contracts they wouldn't mind getting rid of and could want to jump into the top of the draft.

The Bobcats were awful again last season while going 21-61 and the team needs to play better defense and adding Cousins would help with that. The team ranked 29th in the league with over 100 points allowed per game, while they scored just 93 points per game during the year. The team, wasn't much better in rebounding at 27th in the league and adding Cousins surely will help that. Cousins has talent despite his issues and he averaged nearly a double-double last season with over 17 points and almost 10 boards per game.
