Los Angeles Clippers Rumors: Chauncey Billups Calls Blake Griffin Soft, Re-Signing with L.A. Depends on Coaching Search

Fresh off his win of NBA's Teammate of the Year, Chauncey Billups is now calling out his Clippers teammates. Los Angeles has top level talent on their roster but that is not stopping Billups from calling out the weaknesses of his teammates. As Blake Griffin has come under fire in recent weeks for being too soft of player, Billups is saying that he just too nice on the court, but not soft.

"I don't agree that Blake Griffin is soft. But what I will say about Blake is that he's maybe too nice of a guy. Because there's been times in games where people take shots at Blake. And I tell him if that's me, you're going to have to take this two-or-three game suspension, and I'm going to push somebody," Billups said.

Billups said that while Griffin is not soft on the outside, on the inside he is too kind-hearted for the NBA. Billups on the other hand is the exact opposite. His list of discipline issues has varied throughout his career and includes suspensions for making long-distance phone calls and a warning for flopping. Talk about an aggressive play. Billups is right, he would definitely take the suspension if someone said something to him.

Billups is reaching the end of his career and the end of his time with the Los Angeles Clippers. The veteran will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason. He has made hints that ideally he would like to go play for the Miami Heat and be a limited role player for that team. He envisions himself playing "a couple more years" but is uncertain how long.

Billups is coming off a season that was hampered with injuries. In 2011-12, He played just 20 games due to a ruptured Achilles tendon. He only played 22 games this season as he attempted to come back from the injury. He said that he feels healthy now, but with his recent stint of injuries, he might find the free agent market limited for a player with his age and history.

Billups enjoyed his time with the Clippers, but the change in the coaching staff has him considering options outside of the Los Angeles.

"I'm watching with an eagle eye to see what happens. But we got good talent here. We'll just have to see what happens."
