Tim Tebow Rumors: Quarterback Camp Split On NFL Future As Father Disputes Reports, Canadian Football League Offer For QB Serious As Mike Williams Released From Toronto Argonauts

The Canadian Football League has been a consistent pipeline for some players after their NFL careers have ended and while quarterback Tim Tebow has received an offer from the CFL, one other player who signed with a team hard a short-lived stint, as wide receiver Mike Williams was released by the Toronto Argonauts.

According to Pro Football Talk, Williams was released by the Argonauts soon after signing with the team and now the wide receiver must figure out what the next move is of his professional career. Tebow is currently doing the same, as reports say that his camp is divided at what his next career move should be, with some thinking that his NFL future is over and others (including his father) feel that there is still more to be written in the NFL for Timothy Richard Tebow. Williams was a former first round pick out of USC and after going to the Detroit Lions with the 10th overall selection in 2005, but he flamed out after a few seasons and ended up playing just two years with the team.

Williams made a comeback in 2010 with the Seattle Seahawks and his old Trojan coach Pete Carroll after making just 37 catches with the Lions and he almost won comeback player of the year while making over 60 catches and finishing second in the voting behind Michael Vick. The 29-year-old played one season with the Raiders in 2007 and then spent time with the Titans before being out of the league in 2008 and 2009. Carroll gave Williams a chance after he flamed out with the Lions, who had some awful luck in the draft while taking Charles Rogers, Roy Williams and Mike Williams in consecutive years in the first round. Williams played in 56 career games and made 127 catches for 1,526 yards and five touchdowns.

Tebow may have some options depending on if teams send out any feelers quietly after this last stretch of reporting and past that he could possibly come back later on if he sits out this season. When the Jets acquired Tebow they said they had a plan to use him in the offense, but he ended up with just 102 yards rushing and 39 passing on the season without scoring any touchdowns. Tebow has received offers from the AFL as well as the CFL to play for Montreal (who hold his rights), but so far those options have been seen as serious. Tebow has some decisions to make and based on the past year things look grim, but Tebow proved while he was in Denver that he could play and win in the league and a team likely will give him a shot.
