The NBA Finals might not have both teams set yet, but the schedule is somewhat ready. The entire schedule has yet to be determined, but we know two things, the date of Game 1 and that the San Antonio Spurs will be representing the Western Conference.
If you don't want to watch basketball until the NBA Finals begins, then the date to watch Game 1 of the championship is on June 6. The Spurs will be there and depending on the winner between the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers the game will either be played in San Antonio or Miami.
The Heat are currently leading that series 2-1 after winning Games 1 and 3, the latter which the Heat completely dominated in the second half. The Heat also finished the 2013 regular season with the best record in the NBA. At 66-16, Miami was able to win home court advantage. The only other team to win 60 games in 2013 were the now eliminated Oklahoma City Thunder. Many thought it was a guarantee rematch in the 2013 NBA Finals between the Thunder and Heat, but Miami has shown a lot of weaknesses against the Pacers and, well, the Thunder aren't in the playoffs anymore.
San Antonio would host the NBA Finals if the Pacers find a way to win three of the next four games. The Spurs finished in second place in the West with a 58-24 record, while the Pacers went 49-32 for a third place finish in the East.
Many are predicting a Heat and Spurs NBA Finals matchup. The Heat would be a tough matchup being that they work well from the perimeter and have the best player in the world. The Golden State Warriors were able to cut the Spurs apart with their three-point game and their agility. Though the Heat have struggled from three in the Conference Finals, they surely have the weapons to challenge the Spurs' perimeter defense.
The Spurs do possess the defensive advantage in this matchup. With Tim Duncan still a force on both sides of the ball, Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green have become threats from beyond the arc, but their length and tenacious defense will surely give the Heat trouble.
