Arizona Cardinals Rumors: Carson Palmer and Bruce Arians Can Take Advantage Of 49ers Michael Crabtree Injury As Larry Fitzgerald Ready For Record Season With QB

The Arizona Cardinals were one of the worst teams in the NFL last season and one of the biggest issues was the play of the quarterback position, which was by the far the least productive in the NFL and now with a new coach and Carson Palmer in the fold the team is ready to improve.

Although Palmer is a huge upgrade from John Skelton, Kevin Kolb and Ryan Lindley, new head coach Bruce Arians has been frustrated about how quickly the team is picking up his new offense. According to ESPN.com, Arians said that his team is working well enough to get the offense right at all positions, meaning that Palmer likely is one of the players he is talking about as well. The team finally has a solid passer to throw to Larry Fitzgerald, but so far Arians has not been impressed with how the offense looks in OTA workouts. Arians mentioned mental mistakes and other issues, including Larry Fitzgerald making some drops during workouts.

The Cardinals have undergone one of the biggest roster changes in the league and Arians along with general manager Steve Keim and they added a number of players on offense, including running back Rashard Mendenhall and new draft pick on the offensive line in North Carolina's Jonathan Cooper. The team likely will improve over last year, but unless Palmer and the team start working in the offense better, it could be another long season in the desert.

Arians has added more staff and coaches to the team to help implement his offense, which he was able to hone with the Steelers and then with the Colts when he took over for coach Chuck Pagano last season and went 9-3. The running back position should get a shot of life in the offense as Mendenhall joins and Ryan Williams returns from injury, while the defense also is working to improve through OTA workouts. Williams said that he likes the style of Arians and that his accountability is something that was missing over the last two years.

Palmer will be an amazing upgrade after the quarterback situation last season after being traded from the Oakland Raiders and he will give Fitzgerald a legitimate quarterback in the pocket. Darnell Dockett spoke about the impact Palmer has already had on the team, saying that he has helped younger players with the offense and that everyone has respect for him, something that was missing from the quarterbacks last season.
