The Green Bay Packers and Brett Favre might actually be moving towards the healthy part of their relationship. The two parties had a nasty divorce that led the future Hall of Fame quarterback to sign with long-time rivals of Green Bay and finish out the rest of his career. However, it is looking like the two sides are ready to put the past behind them. Current Packers quarterback Arron Rodgers said it is time for a "healing process to begin" between Green Bay and Favre.

The Packers have been looking to retire Favre's number for some time now, but the front office felt the timing of things was still off and they had not decided when to do it. Rodgers is urging the team to retire No. 4 before the quarterback is inducted into the Hall of Fame.

"It's been too long. You know, our country and the state of Wisconsin, these people are a people of second and third and fourth chances. I think it's time to let the healing process to begin for those who are still upset for what we down," Rodgers said.

The relationship began to fall apart in 2008 when the Packers traded Favre to the New York Jets. The quarterback was making a return to the league after retiring. Green Bay was ready to move on with Rodgers as their future quarterback. A year later, Favre signed with NFL rival Vikings, further breaking the bond between the two sides.

Things began to look up after Favre and Rodgers made a rare appearance together at the NFL Honors awards show. Rodgers was happy with the reunion and noted that it felt great to see him. He is very secure in the things he has accomplished in Green Bay. Now he is just focused on getting the No. 4 jersey retired before Favre sails off into the Canton sunset.

Recently, Packers president Mark Murphy made comments about getting Favre back in with the team in a front office role. He was waiting for the timing to be right between the two sides. Rodgers welcomes the idea of Favre coming back. He believes it will only strengthen the relationship.

"I look forward to him being back in the fold, as Mark Murphy has said. I think it's time for out fans, this organization and Brett to heal through this and to mo forward together before he gets the greatest honor of being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame."
