The San Diego Chargers have gone through one of the biggest makeovers this offseason and the team could continue to do so through free agency before training camp begins, as longtime cornerback Quentin Jammer is hoping for a reunion, as he is still out there on the market.
According to NFL.com, Jammer is hoping for a return to the Chargers after spending 11 seasons with the team and while he has expected to end up in another city, so far no contract offer has come his way. Jammer said that he spoke to the Redskins, but that he wouldn't like to return to San Diego if he could. He said that he has no plans to retire despite getting older in age and said that he has spoken with the Chargers about coming back to the team. Jammer knows his skills are declining and that he likely would be in a nickel or reserve role with the team.
Jammer has been on a downward trend but he is still one of the most talented players left on the market depute being 33 years old and last season he gave up first down or touchdowns on 7.13 percent of his snaps and allowed eight touchdowns last season. The Redskins could use another corner, as they ranked 30th in passing yards allowed per game and the Chargers ranked 18th and both could use depth at the position. Tim Tebow could also be an option for the Chargers as Mike McCoy was his coordinator back in Denver and could be the one who could work best with him.
