The Montreal Canadiens may have entered at one of the favorite teams to make it far in the Eastern Conference, but it is the Ottawa Senators who are now making all the noise. The team is on the brink of advancing into the second round of the playoffs if they can get one more win on Thursday night. With a 3-1 lead in the series, they can send their rivals home in Game 5.

The Senators saw their championship dreams dashed last season. They built a 3-2 lead over the New York Rangers, but los the next two games and failed to advance. This time around, they do not intend on letting that happen. Ottawa has a 7-0 record when leading a series 3-1, The last time that the Senators won three straight playoff games was 2007 and only four players remain from that roster.

At this point in the season, Montreal is hampered with injuries that could cause the playoff days to be done. Goaltender Carey Price is listed as day-to-day after a lower body injury. Both Brandon Prust and Ryan White are out with upper body injuries. Their captain, Brian Gionta, missed both Game 2 and Game 4 and will now undergo surgery for a torn bicep.

Montreal was a mere 22 seconds away from tying up the series, instead allowing a goal to tie the game and a goal in overtime to cost them the victory. They could have been headed back for home-ice advantage in the start of a best-of-three series. Despite being the brink of elimination, P.K. Subban says the Canadiens are the better team and will continue to try and win out.
