Tim Tebow is now officially a free agent and if some of his fans had their way, he would be on the Jacksonville Jaguars, which is why a petition was started on the White House website urging the commander in chief to call general manager David Caldwell to ask him to bring Tebow to the team.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, a petition was filed on the "We the People" website urging the President to call Caldwell to convince him to sign Tebow, offering a number of statistics and facts that could possibly away him, including the idea of sold out games due to the quarterbacks popularity. Tebow was released by the Jets and has received a number of offers, none of which were for the NFL, including from the Arena League, Lingerie league and an indoor football league.

The petition cites many of Tebow's past accomplishments and claims that Caldwell is ignoring the good parts in him while blocking the move. The petition says that sales of tickets will go up, as will revenues and that the fans will be much happier if he is on the team. Some of the statistics shown include his postseason passer rating, his NFL quarterback rating in the postseason, as well as his Bronco rookie rankings. President Obama is a sports fan so he likely won't be swayed by those stats, but he also obviously has much more to worry about. The petition also added that he led his teams on seven game winning drives in 16 games.

Tebow was also once offered a job by the owner of the Orlando Predators in the Arena Football League and there has also been speculation that he could move into television if the NFL doesn't work out, possibly as a college football analyst. Tebow won a Heisman trophy while playing in Florida and he could bring in some fans and excitement to a team that hasn't brought winning to Jacksonville in a number of years. The team went just 2-14 last season and ended up with the number two pick in the draft and are hoping for improvements next season with Caldwell and young quarterback Blaine Gabbert.

Tebow rushed for just 102 yards last season and was barely used by the Jets while serving as a blocker and punt protector. The team had no idea what it was doing with him and now he is a man without a team and a skillset that no one can quite figure out. The Jaguars could use him to boost some excitement, but it remains to be seen how good the team would be with him at quarterback. Jacksonville doesn;t have much talent on the roster, but Tebow knows how to win and he has done it on every level, including in high school and in college, where he won two national championships.

The petition reads:  "Jacksonville Jaguars fans want the team to sign recently released QB Tim Tebow. However, rookie general manager for the Jacksonville Jaguars David Caldwell is blocking this from happening. If the Jaguars sign & START Tebow, home games will be sold out, sales will spike, the team will win and the fans will be happy. Mr. Caldwell is ignoring lots of facts about the misunderstood Tim Tebow while in Denver: Passer rating of 125.6 is highest ever in Broncos postseason history. Most yards per completion (31.6) in NFL playoff history.100.5 QB rating is best ever for a Broncos QB in his first start. Third most passing yards in a game by a Bronco rookie QB. (308, in his 2nd start), First 15+ point comeback in the final 3 minutes of an NFL game since the merger,7 game winning drives in just 16 games!"
