The Vancouver Canuck's offense will almost nonexistent in their first game against the San Jose Sharks. They might have scored early in the second period, but they were unable to get any kind of momentum, eventually losing 2-1. The Canucks have multiple scorers on the team and no one could something moving.

It was announced that Roberto Luongo would once again start over starter Cory Schneider who is out with an undisclosed injury. This only adds to drama surrounding the Canucks goaltending throughout the season. While he did play poorly in Game 1, he could not help prevent a loss. The team failed to take advantage of his great performance and now Vancouver has a deficit in the series. The Canucks will aim to load up their front line in an effort to get past goalie Antti Niemi. Vancouver won their last eight of nine regular season games at home, so the chances they recover are high.

The San Jose Sharks intend on doing exactly what they did in Game 1 again on Friday. They have a few players questionable for Game 2. Martin Havlat left with nine minutes left in the first period with an apparent groin injury. Tim Kennedy who knocked in two goals in 13 games is expected to take his place. Other than a few lineup adjustments, the Sharks intend on creating turnovers and remaining aggressive with the forecheck. This helped keep players away from Niemi. Logan Couture kept up his regular-season moment adding a goal and an assist in Game 1. He finished the regular season with four goals and three assists in five games.
