The Oakland Raiders head into Thursday's NFL draft as a team looking to bounce back after a rough 2012 campaign and after a fairly active offseason, they will look to take larger steps towards adding talent to the roster, as they have the number three overall pick and are in a position to add an elite prospect to the team."

The Oakland Raiders have re-signed free agent kicker Eddy Carmona, according to the San Francisco Examiner.

Carmona, the left-footed kicker from Harding University in Arkansas, spent training camp and the preseason with the Raiders in 2012 after signing singing as a non-drafted rookie free agent. After being waived on Aug. 31, he missed all of last season.

Carmona is likely to not make the roster, however, as he'll be put in a battle with veteran Sebastian Janikowski firmly etched as the starter.

Last season, Carmona made 3-of-4 field-goal attempts in four preseason games, including a 53 and 56 yard chip. His 56-yard field goal came off the infield dirt at O.co Coliseum against the Detroit Lions on Aug. 25. He was also 4-for-5 on extra-point attempts.

During his college career he played one season at Harding before transferring from Central Arkansas.

During his senior year he handled both kicking and punting duties, connecting on 10-of-13 field goal attempts with an average of 38.3 yards per punt. He once also booted a 62-yard field goal en route to first team All-Great American Conference honors.
