The New York Jets also finally made their move when it comes to cornerback Darrelle Revis, as the trade to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally passed over any roadblocks, giving the team the number 13 overall pick they covet so much, while the Bucs get the cornerback they desire. The move of one Jets player to the Buccaneers might be duplicated in the future, as Tampa Bay could sign quarterback Tim Tebow if he is released by the Jets before or after the NFL draft on Thursday.

One reason for the possible interest for the Buccaneers is the fact that backup Dan Orlovsky has little starting experience in the league and that head coach Greg Schiano would like some competition for Josh Freeman heading into the 2013 season. According to NFL.com, Schiano has been frustrated with the development and progress of quarterback Josh Freeman and may want to bring in more competition in training camp to push him after he set a career high in turnovers in 2012.

Since the team traded away its first round pick at number 13 overall to the Jets in a the Revis deal, they may not want to select a quarterback in the draft and instead could go after Tebow after he was released by the Jets, which is appearing to be more and more of a possibility as the team continues making offseason moves. Tebow likely wouldn't be asking for too much money and since the Jaguars and Dolphins are not interested, the Buccaneers could be the only chance for him to return to his home state where he had so much success while winning championships and the Heisman trophy in college.

The Buccaneers went after Chase Daniel and Matt Cassel before they signed with other teams as backups and Tebow could be a solid fit in Schiano's system and the former Rutgers coach is a fan of hardworking and determined players, which Tebow absolutely is despite his issues throwing the ball. The quarterback has said to reporters that this offseason has been the best of his career and he has worked with two former Heisman winners Vinny Testaverde and Chris Weinke on his mechanics, throwing motion and footwork.

The trade for Tebow appeared to be a disaster for the Jets last season, as he rushed for just 102 yards and passed for 39 while getting used mostly as a punt protector and decoy in the Wildcat. Schiano did not draft Freeman, which could be one reason why he isn't completely sold on him and after taking Doug Martin last season he may want to rework the whole backfield. The Jets have Mark Sanchez, Greg McElroy, Matt Simms and David Garrard on the roster, leaving Tebow as the likely odd man out. Other fits for the quarterback include the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks.
