NBA Player Death Threats:Thunder Ball Boy Under Investigation After Sending Threats To Houston's Patrick Beverly For Injuring Russell Westbrook

Oklahoma City Thunder ball boy Mitchell Brown is being investigated by police for sending death threats to Houston Rockets rookie guard Patrick Beverly on Friday and Saturday following a collision with Thunder star guard Russell Westbrook that left him out indefinitely with a serious knee injury.

According to IBTimes, officials at the Toyota Center in Houston implemented extra precautions for Saturday's playoff game after Brown sent out several threats to Beverly.

"We definitely took precautions," Toyota Center Director of Security Bryant Savage told The Houston Chronicle. "We definitely upped everything."

Since then Brown has deleted the threatening tweets, but reports suggest they read as followed:

"Patrick Beverly (sic), I'm coming to kill you," Brown wrote on Twitter. Later, he directed a threat at Beverley's Twitter handle, stating "@pavbev21 I'm coming to kill you."

Brown later apologized for his tweet, stating, "Yesterday I posted something completely Inappropriate and I need to apologize. I was out of line and it will not happen again." Later, he deleted that tweet as well, claiming that his account had been hacked.

Fox Sports is reporting that Oklahoma City police Captain Dexter Nelson tells the Associated Press that their department is currently working with the Houston police and the NBA to investigate the threats.

The Thunder released a statement saying that they ''do not condone his comments. He works game nights on a voluntary basis and the matter will be handled internally.''

Beverly was selected in the second round of the 2009 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers, but only experienced his first regular-season action in the NBA this season. In 41 regular-season games, he averaged 5.6 points, 2.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds in about 17 minutes per contest.

Below is the video of the collision between Beverly and Westbrook.
