The Dallas Cowboys are usually one of the most intriguing teams in the NFL draft because of the way owner Jerry Jones evaluates players and that came into the fold again this weekend, as billionaire football booster T. Boone Pickens may have steered the team in the right direction on one of its picks.

According to the Dallas News, the Cowboys were in the market for a running back to get behind starter DeMarco Murry and with the help of T. Boone Pickens, they may have found their man in Joseph Randle, who the team selected in the fifth round. The report says that Jones and Pickens are "best friends" and since Pickens is one of the biggest Oklahoma State football boosters, he may have steered Jerry's attention towards the running back. Jones said that Boone gave him some "information" and now they have a running back that produced for the Ok State Cowboys, as he rushed for r 1,216 yards and 24 touchdowns as a sophomore and 1,417 yards and 14 touchdowns last season.

The Cowboys had issues at running back last season due to injuries to Murray and the backups of Feliz Jones, Phillip Tanner and Lance Dunbar were not cutting it for the Cowboys. Pickens now has his man on his friends team and Dallas got itself a productive back.
