After three long months of rehabilitation from hip surgery, Los Angeles Lakers forward Jordan Hill has been cleared and will be available to play in Game 2 against the San Antonio Spurs.

Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the Lakers had ruled out Hill's return in the first round of the Western Conference, but his progression and dedication in both practices and workouts have them with the belief that he can contribute some solid minutes.

Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni will use Hill based on game situations, but there's a strong likelihood that he'll play since tearing a muscle in his hip on Jan. 6.

Hill, 25, was a vital piece of the Lakers front-court rotation and is more than comfortable at playing the power forward position. His presence on the floor will provide added size and physicality after essentially being pushed around in Game 1 against the Spurs.

His loss early in the season exposed the lack of front-court depth the Lakers have as players like Earl Clark have been forced to play out of their positions.

Before his injury, Hill averaged 6.7 points and 5.7 rebounds but his energy and activity on the glass is what the Lakers miss the most.

Game 2 begins at 9:30 p.m. ET on TNT.
