It has not even been 24 hours since the New York Jets traded away Darrelle Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and already the fallout has begun. The Jets acquired draft picks in return for the All-Star cornerback and Revis now gets the lofty contract he has been pushing for. While the response to the trade has been generally positive, former Buccaneer Warren Sapp, is none too happy Revis is in Tampa. Sapp claims Revis will not be good for the Buc's locker room.

Revis has earner four trips to the Pro Bowl and is considered to be one of the best cornerback's in the league. He will do a lot for the struggling Tampa Bay secondary and make an immediate impact. However, future Hall of Famer Sapp, believes fans should be cautious before getting to excited over Revis.

"He's selfish and he's never been a team player. We didn't win the championship that way. Derrick Brooks and I always cared more about the team than ourselves," Sapp told the Tampa Bay Tribune.

Sapp is referring to Revis' long history with holding out. In his sic years with the Jets, he has held out multiple times while requesting more money from the team. The main reason for the trade from the Jets was due to the fact the team was unwilling to give reason yet another lofty contract extension. The cornerback is coming off season-ending ACL surgery and had yet to prove whether or not he was healthy and ready to begin training. Now Tampa Bay will have to hope they can keep Revis happy for the long-term.

Not all of the response around the Revis trade has been negative. Former Buccaneers' safety John Lynch feels that Revis will help elevate Tampa Bay and will be a true game-changer for the team.

"I played with Champ Bailey in his prime and I know what a cornerback like Revis can do for a defense. Like Champ, Revis is a guy who can neutralize No. 1 receivers, so you don't have to dedicate extra resources to stopping that guy. Darrelle Revis is a big-time football player...He's a game-changer," Lynch said.
