With the news of Rutgers University firing their head basketball coach Mike Rice on Wednesday after a videotape surfaced of Rice physically and verbally abusing players during practice, many have noticed the similarities between Rice and another famous former coach.

Bob Knight, the former Indiana and Texas Tech coach, is well-known for his fiery temper and has become legendary because of it. Knight once choked a players and was allowed to keep his job even after the incident.

While Knight may be the best person to shed some light on how Rice may be feeling, he's remained silent throughout the entire situation since the very beginning.

Knight currently works for ESPN and has decided to not associate himself with the situation, but according to Chris Russo of SirusXM Radio that may prove more difficult than expected for the legendary coach.

Russo simply summed it best on radio show when he said:

"He (Knight) is the guy everybody thinks about when you see this video."

According to Deadspin, ESPN's news chief Vince Doria told Russo today that the network had asked Knight to discuss it but that he'd declined. Doria said that Knight will be calling an NIT game tonight on ESPN, and he won't talk about it there either. Case closed!

Below are videos of both Knight and Rice losing their tempers on the court:
