Louisville guard Kevin Ware underwent successful leg surgery on his broken right leg Sunday night after the Midwest Regional final game.

According to the Huffington Post, now all the team can do now is wait to hear whether or not the sophomore will return to campus Tuesday and whether he'll be allowed to travel with the team later this week to the Final Four in Atlanta.

"He was groggy, in good spirits. He saw us win the trophy and was crying and said it was all worthwhile," coach Rick Pitino told The Associated Press. "We didn't cut down the net, but I left him the trophy."

Ware sustained the injury after landing awkwardly after trying to contest a 3-point shot, shattering his leg in two places. He was carried off the court on a stretcher as his teammates looked on with shock and sadness of their fallen teammate.

Before leaving the floor, Pinto gathered Ware's teammates over so that he could encourage them to keep their focus on the game and not worry about him, something that he continued to voice at halftime.

"I said, 'We're going to dig in. We're going to play this game to the end. We're going to play this game to get him back home,'" Pitino said, explaining his halftime speech. "We'll get him back home, nurse him to good health and we're going to get him to Atlanta."

Ware's injury stirred up an abundance of mixed feelings to the gruesome injury, as most spectators expressed their condolences through social media. Here are some of the things that were said:
