Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson categorically ruled out any chance of Javier Hernandez leaving Old Trafford in the summer.
Hernandez has again showed brilliant form in front of goal for the club, but has found his first-team chances limited following the arrival of Robin Van Persie from Arsenal.
Reports suggested Hernandez might leave United in the summer in search of more first-team opportunities, with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid amongst the interested clubs.
Despite limited opportunities the Mexican international has already scored 16 goals this season, and Ferguson has no doubts Hernandez will still be a United player at the start of next season.
"He's on a long contract for a start," Ferguson told the club's official website. "We won't be entertaining any interest from anyone, no doubt about that.
"As far as we are concerned he is a really important player for us. You can see that any time he comes into a game he changes it. He does something different from the other strikers.
"I've said to Javier that it's not easy for me to leave him out because a 16-goal tally against the number of games he has started is a fantastic record. He will always have that record because he is a penalty-box player.
"But it's difficult when you are up against a player of Robin van Persie's form. Then we've got (Danny) Welbeck, (Wayne) Rooney and (Shinji) Kagawa. That's the benefit of having a strong squad. It's given us an advantage."
Meanwhile, a player who has been linked with a move to United - Burak Yilmaz - could be on his way out of Galatasaray after a stellar season in front of goal, which also sees him currently top of the Champions League goalscoring charts with eight.
Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim admitted the Turkish club will find it difficult to keep the 27-year-old at the club if they received a big offer.
"It's not going to be easy to keep him," Terim was quoted as saying in The Observer.
"He has targets but it will be his decision. Being wanted is a good thing, but we are fond of him and believe he will do great things for us in the future.
"He listens. He is 27 but he is still open to learning new things. Burak senses goals. He can score any time and from anywhere. I'm really fond of him, he has been a miracle signing.
"Andriy Shevchenko was the same. If you substituted him in the 89th minute he would be angry. Burak is the same. He is always thinking about scoring one more goal.
"Loving football is very important. I think he is going to get better and better."
Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the Turkish international, with the Blues reportedly already having a big-money bid rejected by Galatasaray.
United have also been keeping tabs on the striker, but Ferguson will again have to sell one of his four forwards - Van Persie, Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez - to make room for Yilmaz.
