Tottenham will look to keep their top-four place intact when they take on Swansea in their English Premier League game Saturday.

Spurs are four points clear of their North London rivals Arsenal, but having played a game more, Andre Villas-Boas will know they cannot afford to drop anymore points.

Tottenham are on a three-match losing streak in all competitions and the London side will be desperate to get back to winning ways against Swansea, who really have little to play for.

"Our ultimate objective is Champions League qualification," Villas-Boas said. "If we don't achieve it we have to consider what has been achieved this season as steps forward, which are positive for the club and the team going forward bearing in mind the players the team lost.

"But it's not up to me to judge. If you want to move forward you move forward by qualifying for the Champions League."

Villas-Boas insisted his side will not choke like the Tottenham teams of the past when it comes to finishing in the top four.

"The circumstances, players, leaders, training are different. So at this moment it has nothing to do with past experiences," he added. "Obviously it can happen.

"We have to reflect on it like on the late goals we suffered this season. The more you work on it the more you will get out of it. It has happened before but it doesn't mean it will happen again."

Swansea manager Michael Laudrup believes Spurs have been one of the toughest teams he has faced this season and expects another challenging encounter at the Liberty Stadium.

"We have eight games to go, and we have to take them one by one," he said. "But the first one is very difficult. Of all the games we've played this season, the team that has impressed me the most is Tottenham.

"They are a strong side, with a lot of individual skill and plenty of pace. They are great on the counter attack as well so we know it's going to be tough. If they finish fourth it will be a fantastic season for them because they will be back in the Champions League."
