Aside from family members and childhood friends, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade hears little cheers from his hometown crowd whenever he shows up to play the Bulls.

According to Wade, even after winning NBA titles, having played in All-Star games, collected Olympic medals and being a part of the second longest winning streak in NBA history, he doesn't get the love you'd expect for a hometown hero.

 Per the Sun-Sentinel:

"It's always been a knock on guys who played in the suburbs," said Wade, who played at Richards High in Oak Lawn, Ill., about 25 minutes outside the city. "You didn't get as much attention because they think it's not as tough or whatever the case may be. I think I represent the city. Guys are proud of that, but it's something different between guys that go to school in the city and the suburbs."

"Chicago has a rich history. I would never say that I'm the best player to come out of there because there's so many great players that came before me that led the way. But to be one of the top players, it'd be an unbelievable honor for me."

The Heat are in town to play the Bulls Wednesday night, and Miami will be looking to increase their streak to 28 games.

Though he's had time to notice how impressive the streak is, he acknowledges that the Heat will be in for a tough game, even though the Bulls will be without star Derrick Rose.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Wade sympathizes with Rose, who has yet to return from an ACL tear suffered a year ago during the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

"When Derrick is ready ... no one knows his body like he does," Wade told the Tribune on Tuesday. "We can all speculate on whatever we think, but I think he's doing the right thing. He's taking his time to come back. I mean, he's a young guy.

"Obviously, the city of Chicago and the Chicago Bulls are going to lean on him a lot. He's going to do some amazing things. You don't want him to not be 100 percent. From afar I have been proud of how he has handled this situation, not rushing back until he's ready."

Wade has also recently been featured in a new Gatorade commercial that features Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant. The commercial is pretty cool, you can check it out below.
