New York Giants defensive tackle Shaun Rogers is back with the team after re-signing this offseason, but the player suffered some trouble while in Miami, as he was robbed while staying at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach.

According to CBS Sports in Miami, Rogers was the victim of a burglary where $500,000 in valuables was taken, mainly jewelry. The 34-year-old said that he was out of his room at 1 am and went to a club, during which he said him and his friends met a woman who was going to come back to the hotel with the group.

The report said that Rogers told Miami Beach authorities that he put his valuable items in the room safe at 7 am and after he fell asleep, he woke up at 12:30 pm and when he woke up, the group was gone and when he looked into the safe, the valuables were gone, apparently stolen.

The report says that Rogers was robbed of a number of diamond earrings worth $100,000, watches worth over $160,000 as well as a gold necklace and a diamond Cuban necklace with a gold pendant worth $70,000. Rogers missed last season with an injury and came back to the Giants during the offseason after losing Chris Canty in free agency.

Rogers has had off the field problems in the past legally and criminally, including with a sexual assault he was accused of by a stripper, as well as an arrest for gun possession at an airport.
