Miami Heat Rumors: Justin Timberlake is What Players Jam to in Locker Room?

Mar 26, 2013 10:24 AM EDT

You have the traditional stretching and massaging in the locker room, but before the Miami Heat throw their jerseys on and take the court, they jam to Justin Timberlake. Wait, what? First LeBron James get pumped doing the "All Gold Everything" dance during pregame shootouts, and now the Heat mellow it out to some JT in the locker room?

Their starting forward and first class defender, Shane Battier spot with ESPN's Chris Broussard before Monday's game against the Orlando Magic. When asked how the Heat approached playing all of these games, Battier said they stayed loose and listened to Timberlake before games. Apparently, the formula is working as the Heat won their 27th game in a row. They can probably throw on suits and ties and still beat their opponents with the way they're playing. The Heat are currently on an incredibly hot streak and chasing after history attempting to match the Los Angeles Lakers 33-game win streak.

Even more motivation lies in the fact that the Lakers were the 1971-1972 champions and it seems like the Heat are on fire at the right time. There's less than a month of regular season basketball left. They clinched the 2013 Southeast division and own the No. 1 record in the East. They also possess the highest winning percentage in the NBA as the San Antonio Spurs trail them by .043 percentage points.

This is excellent promo for Mr. Timberlake who dropped his latest album "The 20/20 Experience" just about a week ago after over five years of not giving the world good music. Whatever the case, Battier probably gave Timberlake more promo. This might motivate the pop star to continue making classy hits as his N'SYNC boy-band days are years removed from the stuff he's putting out now.

The Miami Heat will look to continue jamming to Justin as they attempt to make in 28 games as they face the Chicago Bulls, Wednesday, at 8 p.m. ET.
