It's been an exciting Big East championship week so far and the best is yet to come as Georgetown faces Syracuse and Louisville sees Notre Dame in the semifinals. Check out the schedule of these matchups as you surely will not want to miss these upcoming battles between Big East Conference rivals.
The action tips off at 7 p.m. ET with Syracuse (5) vs. Georgetown (1) after both teams defeated their quarterfinal opponents.
For Syracuse, it was easy in the first half when they had a 40-27 lead, but the Pittsburgh tightened their game almost coming back to steal the victory. Syracuse was able to remain on top and eventually sealed the deal winning 62-59.
The Hoyas had an easier time entering the semifinals. They defeated the Cincinnati Bearcats 62-43 cruising to victory and advancing to the semis.
Syracuse comes into the match as the more potent team in the areas of scoring, rebounding, assisting and field goal percentage. However, Georgetown is the No. 1 ranked team in the Big East and they had a better winning percentage meaning they were doing something right.
Tipping off at 9 p.m. ET watch Louisville (2) vs. Notre Dame (6). Though the Cardinals' presence is no surprise, the Fighting Irish shocked No. 3 Marquette in Thursday's quarterfinal meeting after beating them 73-65.
Louisville comes into the tournament as the 2012 Big East champions and, so far, did a great job defending their title in their first opportunity in this year's tournament. They defeated No. 7 Villanova 74-55.
