Former NFL star and current television personality Deion Sanders won his custody battle for his three children over his estranged wife Pilar on Tuesday.

According to WFAA.com, Sanders won his case over his wife from a jury, who determined on Tuesday that he now will be the decision maker when it comes to two of their children, leaving Pilar "flabbergasted" with the result. The report says that Sanders will appeal the decision. The jury also decided that they both will make decisions for their nine-year-old daughter.

"I'm thankful; I'm elated. In any war, there will be casualties, but I didn't want the casualties in this case to be my kids," Sanders said.

Both Pilar and Sanders wanted sole custody, but instead Sanders will receive primary custody of the three children, although the two sides still have court issues over finances, as the couple is getting a divorce. The judge also ruled Monday that Sanders pay fopr Pilar's legal expenses.

Sanders filed from divorce from his ex-wide in 2011 and the two also were in a domestic incident in April of last year, when Pilar allegedly hit Sanders numerous times after an argument. After that, he picked her up and put her in a different room before coming down with assault charges.

Sanders was one of the most explosive athletes of his time and won championships with the Dallas Cowboys.
