The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have emerged as the main trade target for the Jets with cornerback Darrelle Revis, but according to Yahoo Sports, the deal is being delayed by the reluctance of the Bucs to give up their first round pick for 2013."

The New York Jets have played both sides of the fence when it comes to trading Darrelle Revis, but it appears as though the team has finally decided to make a move and the team they may deal the cornerback to is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Jets have a "good" offer on the table for the cornerback and that the Buccaneers could be the likely trade target.  The website reports that the Buccaneers could be the team, but that also the Broncos and Falcons are options for the Jets as well.

It would be the third big trade in two days if Revis is dealt, as Percy Harvin was traded to the Seattle Seahawks and Anquan Boldin was traded to the San Francisco 49ers. Revis could be a good fit in Tampa, as the team has tons of cap room and the willingness to sign him to a big contract, which is reportedly what he wants.

The team is planning to get rid of Eric Wright after signing him to a deal last year and Revis will be able to combine with Ronde Barber to form a strong cornerback combination. The Bucs are $32 million under the salary cap and have a hole at cornerback after trading starter Aqib Talib to the Patriots during the season. Wright also was suspended for violating the NFL drug policy.

Revis is considered to be the best cornerback in the NFL and he could get a number of draft picks for the Jets in return. The team has the number 13 pick, which the Jets would love to get their hands on.

Another reason the Buccaneers may want to trade for Revis is the fact that they ranked 31st in the league in total defense despite having the best rushing defense,  meaning their passing defense was lacking as it was ranked last in the NFL. The team went 7-9 last season, but adding Revis to a secondary that already has Mark Barron could turn the team into surprise contenders.

Tampa Bay finished 7-9 last season and out of the playoffs after starting off 1-4 and the team never could recover. They had a nice streak of four wins in a row, but they then dropped the next five before beating the Falcons in the final game of the season.
