Harvin Nearly Walked Out On Minnesota Vikings Last Season, Percy Harvin Trade Rumors Fly As Team Targets Mike Wallace As Free Agent Signing

Percy Harvin is one of the most talented receivers in the NFL, but he is also one of the most controversial, as he has had multiple run-ins with the Minnesota Vikings, including last year when he nearly walked out on his team.

According to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, the team is likely ready to get rid of Harvin, as he almost walked out on the team before the start of last season when he did not get a contract extension. Cole writes that Harvin wanted a deal like Calvin Johnson's and was made that his teammate at Florida Aaron Hernandez got an extension from the Patriots.

The team has been rumored in regards to free agent wideout Mike Wallace, who has similar speed to Harvin and could be a potential replacement by general manager Rick Spielman. Harvin has had issues with the team and the coaching staff in the past and after Dwayne Bowe and Brian Hartline signed deals this offseason, Harvin will want to be paid.

Spielman said: "We love Percy Harvin as a football player. Everybody sees what he does for our football team.

Reports came out last year that Harvin had a tirade that was disrespectful towards the coach while he was out of action with an injury and that after the blow up, he was placed on injured reserve. Teammates did not like what he did and the Vikings grew sick of his attitude after that. Harvin has had past issues with former coach Brad Childress and now the Vikings appear to be finished with the talented receiver and return man.

Harvin was placed on injured reserve amid all the controversy with his tirade, but it did not disrupt the Vikings, who finished the year 10-6 and made the playoffs on the final day of the year. The team finished on a four game winning streak before losing 24-10 to the Packers in the playoffs.

Harvin is a small guy at 5', 1", 184 lbs., but he is dangerous in the return game, bringing back multiple touchdowns over his career, and he has been a valuable target as a slot receiver. The Dolphins could be a perfect lading spot for him for draft picks, considering Dolphins coach Joe Philbin saw a lot of him while working with the Green Bay Packers.
