Erin Andrews and rapper 50 Cent had an awkward encounter at the Daytona 500 last month in Florida, with the MC trying to awkwardly kiss the television host, who deftly avoided the peck.
According to Yahoo.com, Andrews has explained the incident, saying that while she was searching for Danica Patrick among the large crowd, she ran into 50 Cent, who tried to kiss her on the cheek. She said there are no hard feeling between the two and that the whole thing was her own fault.
"It was my fault. I was rushed - none of the drivers were in their spot for the Daytona 500 pit walk. They were all in the bathroom," Erin told Access Hollywood of the incident at the 2013 FOX Sports Upfront After Party in New York City on Tuesday, adding that the drivers were making a last minute restroom run as they have to spend nearly "four hours" in their cars. "Everybody was supposed to be in their spot and then they all went to the bathroom and I was screwed."
She said that the two are business partners and she knows him previously and that she quickly turned her head when someone screamed "Danica", which was whom she was looking for.
"I went and said hello [to him]. We're actually business partners - I'm one of the spokespeople for SK Energy," she explained, referring to the energy drink company co-founded by the rapper. "He grabbed me, I went one way, they screamed 'Danica,' I whipped my neck, I got whiplash and it's fine.
"As long as he makes me a lot of money with SK energy I'll be happy!" she added, laughing.
Andrews is no stranger to the spotlight after starring on ESPN for years and appearing on Dancing with the Stars" and she was adamant, saying she did not intent to snub 50 Cent.
"He's the best. I mean, come on," she said.
Many on the internet noticed the move, including @RichaedDeitsch from SI.com, who wrote: "Now that 50 Cent has kissed Erin Andrews, I need Helen Mirren to make out with Tom Rinaldi."
Later 50 himself tweeted: "Hey I wanted to kiss her so I did"
The 37-year-old rapper was one of many celebrities at the race, including Ray Lewis, who was the honorary starter, and James Franco, who was the grand marshal at the event.
