Arian Foster Ends Twitter Account Online, Houston Texans Running Back Gives No Reason For Social Media Shutdown

Arian Foster has been one of the most productive running backs in football over the past few years and he has also been one of the most interesting players on Twitter, frequently writing poetry, quotes and other observations.

According to ESPN.com, Foster's days of writing online are now finished, as the Houston Texans running back decided to shut down his Twitter account on Monday, leaving no real explanation for it.

He wrote to finish: "It's been fun, twitter! Time for me to leave the digital realm. Be the light you want to see on the earth. Peace," the Houston Texans running back wrote Monday morning.

Foster has been one of the most notable Twitter accounts in the NFL and he had over 370,000 followers as of Monday. He has written a number of interesting things, including quotes from books, poetry he has written himself, as well as revealing when he went vegan last year, which set some NFL fans off about his physicality and body strength.

Foster also made headlines when he Tweeted out a photo of his hamstring MRI before the 2011 season, writing "white stuff surrounding the muscle is known in the medical world as anti-awesomeness". The team came down on him a bit for the reveal of his MRI, but it wasn't anything serious.

The running back made news when he changed his picture from his own to one of a screen shot of a highly critical excerpt from a column by Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy about the team before the Texans played the Patriots in the playoffs. The two teams faced off during the regular season and the postseason, with the Patriots winning both times.

Foster left no explanation for his leaving of Twitter, but he could put that out in the next few days if he feels like he needs to do it. At 26-years-old Foster is still in the prime of his career and last season he was tops in the NFL with 15 rushing touchdowns last season and finished sixth with 1,424 yards.

The Texans running back is a close second behind Adrian Peterson for the most rushing yards over the past three years. Totaling 4,264 to put him ahead of Ray Rice, Chris Johnson and Marshawn Lynch.
