easyMarkets Gets Involved in Spanish La Liga with the Real Betis Sponsorship

Sep 04, 2019 11:00 AM EDT

On August 16th, easyMarkets, the popular online brokerage company operating in the European Union, the UK, and LATAM countries among other regions, had been announced as the official sponsor of Real Betis Balompié, a Spanish football club with a history of more than 100 years.

A fresh start after a difficult period

The latest sponsorship contract had been welcomed by both parties and for the next three seasons, the team kit will prominently feature the easyMarkets logo on the front. It was during the first home match against Valladolid when the players presented the new equipment, marking the beginning of a potentially new and fruitful period for both companies.

It wasn't the best few years for Betis fans, who were forced to see their favorite team dropping into the Segunda Division for one season. Since 2015-2016, the club rejoined La Liga and managed to avoid relegation. It even managed to reach the Round of 32 in the 2018-2019 Europa League season, when the French team Rennes proved to be hard to overcome.

With its slogan "Simply Honest" and promoting transparent, accessible, and friendly online trading services, easyMarkets is seen as an anchor of financial stability for Real Betis. Ramón Alarcón, the CBO of the football club acknowledged the synergy between both companies:

"We are really happy to have signed this three-year deal because sponsorship agreements increase their value in a long-term relationship. At the same time, the idea of a technology-based CFD broker choosing Betis for entering the football space is quite satisfactory for us, as it highlights the effort we are making in the digital environment, which is one of the assets that easyMarkets values the most."

Nikos Antoniades, the CEO of easyMarkets shared a similar view, claiming the sponsorship agreement "will undoubtedly bring immense value to both parties". The online trading company already serves more than 142,000 clients at a global scale and the latest partnership will offer significant brand exposure, given that La Liga is being broadcasted globally.

The Barcelona test, followed by manageable matches

After facing defeat against Valladolid during the first round of the season, Rubi Joan and his team are due to face FC Barcelona in an away match on Sunday. With Robles Joel unavailable due to the red card received during the first match, the team will have to rely on one of their other two younger keepers: Martin Fernandes Daniel or Rebollo Daniel.

The fans are excited about the match, given that Betis provided the surprise a year ago by winning 3-4 on Camp Nou. In the absence of Lionel Messi, the Catalans seem vulnerable and unable to set in motion the same deadly attack we saw in the previous season.

Following the Sunday match, Real Betis is expected to get more points in the next few matches, given that it will have to face decent opponents like Leganes, Osasuna, or Levante. It is expected that the team will show a better performance this season, but will it be able to do that?
