The Longest Golf Courses in the World

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain - China

Length: 8,548 yards (10,800ft high)

Par: 72

Golfing in China hit new heights with the development of this course, literally and metaphorically speaking. At 10,800 feet above sea level this course is the second highest course in the world and the highest in Asia, so high that all golf buggies are fitted with an oxygen mask to help you acclimatise to the lack of oxygen. Overlooking the majestic Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (18,360ft) from all corners of the course you can do some golf betting that it will be an amazing round of golf and an experience that will live with you forever. At 8,548 yards from beginning to end it's the longest par 72 golf course in the world too!

Legend Golf & Safari Signature Course - South Africa

Length: 8,473 yards

Par: 72

The rainbow nation takes up a couple of spots on the list and it's easy to work out why, with its beautiful landscape and massive open spaces it would seem like a golfer's paradise. The Legend Golf & Safari Signature Course is an example of both of those points being the second longest par 72 course in the world at 8,473 yards and set in an absolutely breath-taking landscape. This course has also lots of coverage for one of its holes, the 'Extreme-19' which is the longest par 3 in the world. Its tee, set on the Hangklip Mountain, is about 400m above the green and is accessible only by helicopter with golfers aiming for the Africa-shaped green hundreds of metres below

Blair Atholl Golf Course - South Africa

Distance: 8,420 yards

Par: 72

Another course located on the sunny plains of South Africa, Blair Atoll makes this list thanks to its overall distance of 8,420 yards which brings up the rear of the top 3 longest 72 par courses in the world. The 'Crocodile River' runs through the course flowing its way to feed the dam in front of the 17th green. The Blair Atholl Club is closely linked with the private Champions Retreat Club in Augusta.

The International Golf Club - Pines Course - USA

Distance: 8,325 yards

Par: 73

The International Pines Course is a private course for use only by members based near Bolton Massachusetts. The Pines Course originally consisted of 66 acres of open farmland that proved to be ideal for a "short but tricky" nine-hole course. The Pines, one of the longest courses in the world, is home to the signature "Tiger Tee's" topping out at 8,325 yards, rated one of the most difficult courses in America.

Nullarbor Links - Australia

Distance: 1,492,782 yards

Par: 73

Whilst this may not deserve to be on the list in a traditional sense, the Nullarbor Links golf course is technically the longest in the world, and by some distance. You could line up the longest 200 golf courses end to end and it still wouldn't be as long as the Nullarbor Links course, measuring in at an absolutely staggering 1,492,782 yards!

Each hole from this iconic and visionary new course on the southern rim of Australia is in a different town and it even crossed over two states. Many people who have had the pleasure of playing the course have said it's taken multiple days, even up to a week to complete the course. Playing golf across some of the best landscape the entire planet has to offer mixed in with a week-long jolly across Australia, count me in.
